What does it mean to be a Data Analysis at Amida?
My job is to identify, interpret, clean, and improve the quality of data in data sets. I work with a wide variety of stakeholders – such as developers, business analysts, and project managers – on all kinds of data-related tasks where I can make an impact and help get the job done well.
Why did you choose this career, and what is most fulfilling for you in your work?
Data analytics is a great way for me to exercise my passion to solve problems. Our world is getting more data-centric, and the insights we gain from data can propel us to ask better questions so we can make better decisions and improve people’s lives.
What are you working on currently, and what is its impact going to be?
I’m currently working on improvements to the data quality process for a project that automates claims processing for Veterans. This will help ensure that Veterans get fast decisions on their claims. Anyone who has ever had to wait a long time for someone to make a decision about your healthcare or money can understand how huge of an impact this has!
What’s your favorite part of working with the Amida team?
I love working with my project team. I’m able to collaborate with and bounce ideas off my teammates and not feel so stuck in my lane. It enables me to be creative and challenged at the same time. I also enjoy the wide variety of tasks on the project — both what I’m working on, as well as learning about all the other important pieces of this big and important puzzle we’re solving..
What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I love to play sports in general, mainly tennis and soccer. I’m outdoors as much as I can be!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Probably telekinesis, the power to move objects with my mind. I like the idea of being able to control something without touching it. That would make me so much more effective!
