Dr. Alain Briancon, Amida’s Vice President, Engineering, has vast experience designing big-data systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, enterprise software, and mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. He is a serial innovator and inventor with eighty-eight granted patents, including twenty-seven related to AI and data science. Briancon’s career has spanned more than thirty years in the industry, including senior management positions at Kantar Profiles, AMPEX, Cerebri AI, and InterDigital. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mark Forman, Amida’s Chief Strategy Officer, integrates data management and AI trends into the company’s strategic and go-to-market plans.
Mark served as the nation’s first Administrator for E-Government and Information Technology. In this role, he oversaw all federal IT spending, led the CIO Council, and created and managed implementation of the E-Government Strategy. That plan – which comprised twenty-five multi-agency presidential initiatives – enhanced interactions between the Federal Government and individuals, businesses, and state governments.
An industry executive with more than thirty years’ experience at IBM, Unisys, KPMG, and SAIC, Mark has led national and global Public Sector organizations. Through his various roles in government and industry, he has worked to modernize government operations and improve customer focus. Mark holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Ohio State University.
As Amida’s Chief Architect, Mike Hiner aligns the company’s technical capabilities with business opportunities to ensure that our solutions meet our clients’ needs. He has extensive experience in the planning and development of enterprise-grade web applications and network systems. Mike has led product management initiatives for medical devices, as well as applications for enterprise records and form management. His technical proficiency spans a wide range of software applications, operating systems, cloud environments, programming languages, and scripting tools. Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Boston University.
Margaret leads Amida’s dedicated back-office team, which includes accounting, pricing, contracts, IT, human resources, and compliance efforts. Previously, she served as Director of Compliance, Finance, and Business Operations. Prior to joining Amida, she managed financial reporting and analysis at an international manufacturer. She also held management positions at Marriott and the Allegis Group in the areas of corporate treasury and global cash management, planning and control, and credit and operations. Margaret has a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Management from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, and a certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University.
Rajesh K. Krishnasamy, Amida’s Chief Technology Officer, has more than twenty-four years of experience in the design and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical systems, with a focus on Medicaid and public health technologies. Throughout his career, Rajesh has led the architectural design and implementation of innovative solutions that have transformed healthcare IT infrastructure across multiple states. With a focus on middleware, web services, API development, and cloud platforms, his strategic vision has significantly improved operational efficiency and service delivery across the healthcare sector. Rajesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology.
Peter L. Levin has served at senior levels of leadership in the federal government, the private sector, and academe. Immediately prior to co-founding Amida, he was Senior Advisor to the Secretary and Chief Technology Officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he led their health record modernization initiative. His background is in applied math and computer simulations. He has published in peer-reviewed journals as well as distinguished outlets in the popular press. Peter is an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security.
Matthew is a co-founder of Amida and has led many of Amida’s technical projects since the start of the company. He has extensive experience in Healthcare Information Technology, working for clients across the federal, state, private, and academic sectors.
Prior to Amida, Matthew was the first-ever Presidential Innovation Fellow, building open source and reusable components within the Department of Veterans Affairs for their “Blue Button” program. Matthew also helped launch OSEHRA, an organization dedicated to growing the adoption of the Department of Veterans Affairs open source Electronic Medical Record, VistA. He has nearly twenty years of experience across many aspects of project management, systems design, engineering, data management, and analysis. Matthew holds his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University.
In his role as Chief Data Architect, Joe is responsible for Amida’s efforts on programs related to data engineering, data warehousing, and data governance. A proven leader with more than fifteen years of experience in data engineering and integration, he focuses on providing innovative solutions and customer support to ensure client satisfaction. Joe managed an Enterprise Data Catalog for a large government organization. He also spent many years in numerous engineering roles at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, where he gained extensive experience in the management and delivery of large-scale IT transformation initiatives. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Union College.
Mukundan is responsible for daily business operations at Amida. He was previously the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Medical Assistance Services. There, he initiated the modernization effort of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and rolled out various modules as part of the Medicaid Enterprise System. Mukundan led the development of a state-of-the-art encounter processing system for Virginia Medicaid, and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) certified the system. He was instrumental in making Virginia the first state to go live with CMS’s Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS). Mukundan also led the implementation of the North Carolina Medicaid Information System in 2013 when he was with CSC, as well as Virginia’s MMIS in 2003 when he was with First Health Services.
At Amida, we take information security seriously, for both our clients and ourselves. We are Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)-certified and HIPAA-compliant, and we are currently pursuing ISO 9001 and 27001 certifications. Additionally, Amida is aligned with NIST 800-171 controls and has established a Government Community Cloud-High (GCC-H) environment.
